A remarkable memorial volume dedicated to the memory of Archie Gordon, son of John Hamilton-Gordon, seventh Earl of Aberdeen and his wife Ishbel Lady Aberdeen. Aberdeen was twice Viceroy of Ireland and served as Governor General of Canada from 1893 to 1898 where he had a lasting effect on the both the office of Governor-General and and the country itself. Archie died in 1909 at the age of 25 in an automobile accident. The book includes contributions by Rober Louis Stevenson, Herbert Asquith and others and the rear section is a remarkable illustrated tribute to their son with many photographs reproduced in photogravure as well as mounted colour reproductions of drawings and paintings in full colour. Bound in light blue, gilt decorated cloth, marbled endpapers, AEG. Includes an In Memoriam card signed by Aberdeen and his wife. A large and heavy book, special shipping considerations may apply.
